Teams end up running a Wix site and a Webflow site at the same time more often than you’d think — a Wix site built fast for an early launch, a Webflow site built later for more design control, or a slow migration where neither side can afford to go stale while the other catches up. Keeping the same product, content, or booking data accurate in both means someone re-entering it twice, and that breaks the moment either site changes without the other knowing. This guide covers how to sync Wix and Webflow without code, in either direction.
Why sync Wix with Webflow
Wix and Webflow solve overlapping but different problems — Wix for fast, all-in-one site building; Webflow for deeper design control and a more flexible CMS. Syncing the two lets you:
- Migrate a Wix CMS Collection into Webflow gradually, keeping both sites live and accurate while you move content over.
- Run a Wix site and a Webflow site for different brands, regions, or product lines from the same underlying catalog or content data.
- Let whichever team edits faster in Wix’s editor keep a Webflow CMS Collection current automatically, or vice versa.
A one-time CSV export between the two covers a single migration moment. It doesn’t hold up once either site keeps changing week to week, which is the normal state for any live site.
What you need before you start
- A Wix site with at least one CMS Collection (products, blog items, bookings, or a custom collection).
- A Webflow site with a CMS Collection shaped to match — fields for title, status, price or date, images, and any custom fields.
- A Synquake account — sign up free at app.synquake.com.
No developer, no Wix Velo code, and no Webflow custom code embed required. Synquake connects to the Wix and Webflow APIs directly.
Step-by-step: connecting Wix and Webflow
1. Connect both accounts
Add Wix and Webflow as connections in Synquake. Wix authorizes through OAuth from your site dashboard; Webflow through OAuth on the site you choose. No API keys get passed around the team manually.
2. Pick your collections
Choose which Wix CMS Collection maps to which Webflow CMS Collection — a Wix “Products” collection to a Webflow “Products” Collection, or a Wix “Bookings” collection to a Webflow “Events” Collection are common starting points.
3. Map fields visually
Draw the connections between Wix fields (title, price, status, images, rich text) and Webflow CMS fields. Field types don’t need to match exactly up front — Synquake handles the conversion, including Wix image fields mapping to Webflow’s asset-based image field.
4. Choose sync direction
Pick one-way (Wix → Webflow, useful mid-migration while Wix stays the source of truth) or two-way sync, so an edit made directly in Webflow’s CMS pushes back to Wix too. Two-way sync is included on every Synquake plan, not a paid upgrade.
5. Preview before going live
Run a preview sync against a handful of real items first. Confirm titles, prices, and images land in the correct Webflow CMS fields — and render correctly on a live Webflow collection page — before enabling continuous sync.
6. Turn on live sync
Once the preview checks out, enable scheduled or real-time sync. From here, updates on either site flow automatically, with no manual re-export step.
Common Wix–Webflow sync scenarios
- Phased migration: Move a Wix site to Webflow collection by collection, keeping both live and in sync until the cutover is complete, instead of one high-risk switchover.
- Dual-brand or dual-market sites: A company running a Wix site for one brand and a Webflow site for another keeps shared product or location data consistent across both.
- Content handoff: A content team drafts in whichever editor they’re faster in, while the sync keeps the other site’s CMS current without a second manual entry pass.
- Booking and lead flow: Wix bookings or form submissions sync into a Webflow CMS Collection for display or reporting, without a manual export step.
Avoiding common sync problems
- Rich text formatting: Confirm Wix rich-text fields map to a Webflow rich text field, not a plain text field, before enabling two-way sync — this is the most common source of lost formatting.
- Duplicate items: Set a stable matching field (SKU, slug, or Wix item ID) so re-running a sync updates existing CMS items instead of creating duplicates.
- Image handling: Wix media assets sync as URLs; make sure the Webflow side is configured to fetch and host them as Webflow assets rather than leaving broken image links.
- Draft vs. published state: Decide whether draft Wix items should sync to Webflow’s CMS at all, or only published ones — this avoids live items or collection pages pointing at unfinished content.
Beyond Wix and Webflow
Synquake’s sync is any-to-any across eight platforms — Airtable, Webflow, WordPress, Supabase (including Lovable-built apps), Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, and Google Sheets — plus CSV import/export on every plan. The same Webflow CMS Collection you sync with Wix can also feed from an Airtable base, a Supabase table, or a Google Sheet, without building a separate integration for each. See the full integrations page for details, or read how it works for the connection, mapping, and monitoring model.
